We are beyond excited to continue strengthening our youth programming as we invest in the future of our players!
Jeff Donnici is coming on board as our Academy Staff Coach, working with all U8, U9 and U10 players. Jeff has been coaching in and around our club for 15+ years and has played a key role in the development of many of our current older players. He connects with players at every level, builds strong relationships with them and their families, and helps foster a lasting love for the game that extends well beyond their teenage years. Jeff will not only help monitor and develop our Academy players, but will also play a big part in guiding and preparing our U8 families for the bump to Academy level soccer and/or Travel Rec options.
In another exciting move, we are expanding Nick Tallman’s role to U9 – U12 Director of Coaching. This is an ideal role for Nick and a great hire to bring stability and excitement to Academy players as they transition into U11 Competitive. His knowledge of each player will help ease anxiety and build confidence as they take the next step. Nick will work with Jeff to ensure we form all U9 and U10 Academy teams based upon the appropriate level, then continue to develop and oversee them through U12. Technical Director, Rich Dell, will continue to serve as our U13 – U19 Director and ensure all players and teams in those age groups have a 1st class developmental experience before and during their high school years. Rich will also work closely with Nick and Jeff to develop and implement new curriculum ideas and club programming for all teams U9 and older.
“Westy continues to put our most experienced assets into all program areas, looking after and learning every single player in the club, and guaranteeing our families will know those developing their kids. Having Jeff and Nick consistently at Westfield Village, and City Park with our U8s, and Rich around all players at Big Dry Creek, will allow for familiarity amongst our membership and help continue to strengthen that trust amongst families, coaches and staff,” Executive Director Paul Mulvany said.
