How many games are there and where are they located?
- U4-U5: The U4-U5 have 8 games throughout the season. Those games are played at Westminster City Park (105th & Sheridan) at the same time each weekend. For specific schedules, please click here.
- U6-U10 In-House: In-house teams have 8-10 games throughout the season. Those games are played at Westminster City Park (105th & Sheridan) at the same time each weekend. For specific schedules, please click here.
- U9-U15 Travel: Travel teams play 8 games throughout the season. Four games will be played at Westfield Village Park (115 & Wolffe) and four games will be played in one of the following cities: Westminster, Boulder, Wheat Ridge, Golden, Lakewood, or Arvada. Schedules will be posted prior to the season and can be found here.
How many practices are there a week, what time will they start, and where are they located?
- U4-U5: The U4-U5 age group does not practice during the week. They will have an extended warmup/practice prior to their game on Saturday.
- U6-U10 In-House: In-house teams practice once per week with their team for 60 minutes. Practice days and times are dependent on the volunteer coach. Practices are held at Westminster City Park or another local Westminster park starting between 5:00-6:00 PM.
- U9-U15 Travel: Travel teams practice twice a week for either 60 (U9-U10) or 75 (U11-U15) minutes. Practice days and times are dependent on the volunteer coach. Practices are held at Westfield Village Park or another local Westminster Park starting between 4:30-6:15 PM.
What if I can only practice on certain days during the week?
- You can denote the days you can or cannot practice in the additional comments section of the registration. We will do our best to accommodate.
What equipment will I need?
- We ask that all players wear shinguards and bring a soccer ball to each practice and game. Soccer cleats are not required, but highly recommended for older players.
- Players are also asked to wear a Westy Soccer jersey. Information on ordering jerseys can be found here.
What age group do we start using goalkeepers?
- Goalkeepers are introduced at U8
What age group can Rec players head the ball?
- Per US Soccer Guidelines, players at U10 and younger shall not head the ball directly from the air in any match or competition, nor shall these players practice heading the ball in any organized team setting. Players U11 and older can head the ball, but are asked to limit the repetitions in a practice setting.
